Anthony Petkovich: I assume “Fujiko Kano” is a stage name. How did you come up with it?
Fujiko: The ‘kano’? — that means “dream come true.” And ‘Fujiko’ means “one of a kind.” I picked the name myself.
When did you first get interested in sex work?
Actually, I was curious about sex stuff since I was five. I saw a girlie magazine — maybe it was Playboy, Hustler, whatever — and I saw naked girls inside and was very interested. I’d never seen white people before that, and I thought the white women in those magazines were like angels — with blonde hair, blue eyes, nice shapes ...
